Case Mountain and Wyllys Falls | Manchester Connecticut

Case Mountain is a popular destination in Manchester CT that provides a sweeping view stretching all the way to Hartford. Just down the road from this is the difficult to access Wyllys Falls. We visited both in about an hour, watch our video and then read more below:

This is a very popular place as we discovered. The main parking lot was full and the second lot just up the road was equally packed. While there are multiple trails to follow, they all seem to head towards the summit with the view and its hard to truly get lost. We took the pink trail but look at a map and you'll find a criss crossing network of trails, many unmarked.

You begin by the hybrid water fall, one of the only in CT, and can either climb the stairs by the main lot or cross the bridge over the top by the secondary lot. The trek to the top took maybe 30 minutes and was not particularly strenuous, but boy is the view worth it! A wide sweeping vista of downtown Manchester and a clear view of Hartford in the distance. Open the photo to the right and squint to see it!

Just 30 seconds down the road is a plot of land that was donated to the town. Down this slick muddy path you'll find a brook. Unfortunately when we went the water was deep and fast so there was no easy way across. We shuffled over two downed logs and through some crazy wilderness to see Wyllys Falls. This 40'+ Bridal Veil style fall is one of the best hidden waterfalls in CT. This spot is not well documented and difficult to get to so you'll likely have it to yourself. We didn't, there were some young kids having a party, so you've been warned.
